Massage Therapy and Healing
As a natural healer, massage therapist and reiki practitioner, I believe that blending physical skills with holistic gifts is a powerful form of wellness treatment than can benefit the person physically, emotionally, psychologically and spiritually.
Q Why did you decide to become a Natural Health Practitioner?
A I come from a family of natural healers and have always believed that natural healing therapies are an important part of the healing process; however, knowing something and practicing it is not always easy to do. Having spent most of my working life in a high stress corporate communications role, including 10 years with a major health region in Canada, I started to suffer with burn-out related anxiety and depression and finally admitted to myself that I needed to make a commitment to change for the sake of my mental and physical health. I was guided to take a Reiki Level 1 course and found that I had an ability to feel energy under my hands and to balance that flow of energy so that it was drawn to where it was most needed creating a feeling of calm and improved well-being in clients.
Q. Why did you decide to train in massage therapy?
A I noticed many clients presented to me with physical symptoms such as shoulder pain, a stiff neck or other similar problems as well as feeling generally, or significantly, unwell; so, in 2016 upon returning to the UK, I qualified as a Swedish Massage therapist so that I could offer the benefits of healing, massage and combined treatments.
“After a healing session with Karen I left feeling so much more relaxed and for the first time in six weeks I felt that my breathing was normal.
I suffer with anxiety and have just experienced grief and a health issue and Karen made me feel human again.”
